Empaths. Tell Me No Lies, You’re Sleep Deprived
Tossing and turning, and sleepless nights. So many do have them for one reason or another. However, if you’re an Empath, or have a friend you know who is, you’ll notice the tired eyes more often than not. I’d say not many wake up very easily. It’s a long, stumbling walk, into the kitchen for that glorious miracle drink we love called coffee. Or maybe I’m just talking about me.
When anyone is stressed, they often have trouble sleeping. However what falls under the category of stress is different for some. An Empath will tend to stress over things others would dismiss. For instance, most people will stress about severe financial hardships or the illness of a loved one. An Empath however, will lay awake at night going over a conversation with someone they found odd and don’t know whether to take it personal.
That’s because they care.
They care if they might have said something the wrong way, why someone was acting different that day, why the boss was snappy, and so on. Occasionally, they go into a panic over something that they really have nothing much to worry about. Don’t underestimate them though. They are highly intuitive. They zone in, watch, listen, and not much gets by them. For that reason, more often than not their gut instincts are right.
They know this
They absolutely know of their strong intuition and they trust it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told that I was paranoid when I could predict what was going to happen or what someone’s true intentions were. Then, not long after that, fight back the urge to say “I told you so”. Sometimes, I don’t fight it…. because it’s frustrating when no one else could see what I could. When no one else would listen.
I don’t want to give out a bunch of “How To’s”. After all, I’m not a psychologist, or even have studied easier ways to get by or how to change. I haven’t wanted to change. Yes, we may drive ourselves crazy at times, we would probably be better off to pick and choose our battles and learn to let go, but the flipside to life as an Empath is this….
being told more often than not that you have a heart of gold. The best is being told you’ve made a big impact and that someone is happier for knowing you. That is priceless.
People who really take the time to get to know us, love us. For those who don’t, it really is a loss of their own. Do we feel lonely? Do we feel like we’re not as popular as other people? Are we often misunderstood? I’d say yes to all.
I can only ask myself, do I want to try to conform for the sake of popularity? Do I want to conform simply for less tossing and turning at night? Tempting, but I don’t think so. It’s a no brainer to maybe read before bed, or take a soothing bath. There’s endless ideas to have a better nights sleep. Perhaps if I went through them all….I might do my readers a favor. You could actually be sleeping sooner than not. Boredom works every time.
Simple advice, love who you are and go with the flow. If you were looking for better advice than that, unfortunately, I really don’t have it. All I can say is we’re all in the same boat with all different kinds. Think of this: There’s an iceberg straight ahead. The good news is we’re among the survivors …..quite frankly, who do you think noticed it first?
Have a good night and…..
